Definition of "Juisui"

Metabasaltic epidote amphibolites and mafic, Mn-rich garnet plus glaucophane schists associated with serpentinites occur as large tectonic blocks in the Juisui area (Yen, 1966; Liou et al., 1975; Liou, 1981a).

The effects of high P/T metamorphism are best exhibited in metabasaltic epidote amphibolite and mafic Mn-rich garnet amphibolite that are associated with serpentinite. In the Juisui area, these lithologies occur as large tectonic blocks.

Juisui is a small town on the east coast railway line, about halfway between Hualien and Taitung. The town itself is no big deal, however it's only 4km east of Juisui Hot Springs.

I bid farewell both to Liu and the engineer at Kuangfu, the first of the line's major southbound stops, and later headed on to Juisui. A thriving tourist center, Juisui is famous as a launch point for whitewater rafting on the Hsiukuluan River (秀姑巒溪), but there are also plenty of things to do in town.One of the more well-known of these is the Juisui hot spring.

Similarly, case number 5 in Table 1 also shows that the epidemic progressed very slowly in the township of Juisui. One may also consider that this was very slow, because in the middle part of Juisui the epidemic was impeded by the Fuyuan River and Hongye River, in the south side the epidemic was impeded by the broad Siouguluan River, in the western side the epidemic was impeded by the Central Mountain Range, and in the eastern side the epidemic was impeded by the Coastal Mountain Range.
